“GLADIOLUS” by Lior Tavori
Singing birds over red rooftops
On a hill, indoors, in a room
Colorful petals wrapping life
A sword cuts a cake
“CONTRIVANCE” by Daniel Cardoso
We are mere pieces, part of this machine that we call society. We live conditioned by what is instilled in us, through culture and its current canons, religion, politics and our peers.
When our gaze lands on a child alone playing in the park, discovering and feeling what surrounds it, without leaving itself, imagining, with freedom of thought, without any pretension to please or belong, it makes us question the path taken here.
Are we being forced in a particular direction? Have we lost our essence? Have we lost our creativity? Have we lost our ability to be genuine? Can we still be spontaneous? Who do we become? Are we free?
With a work always linked to the movement and with the commitment to continue the challenge of embodying ideas and words, Daniel Cardoso does not intend to criticize society or each person´s way of being, but rather to propose a questioning about the way of life that commands the way we interact in society.
