RELATIONS
SYNOPSIS
In this program Quorum Ballet presents a new experience by approaching the theme “relations” from two distinct points of view: that of the choreographer Iolanda Rodrigues, a former dancer of the extinct Ballet Gulbenkian and that of Daniel Cardoso, artistic director and resident choreographer of Quorum Ballet.
In “Relations” each dancer builds up a specific character, basing themselves on daily experiences trying to define a determined personality. Once their personalities are sketched they begin to interact with one another. In their own time, those interactions develop themselves either in a spontaneous, predictable or unexpected way, which consequently will determine further interactions.
The moment will come when the public will feel that they are entirely a part of “relations”, morphing perfectly with the music and the dancers.
The motivation for the public to come and enjoy this spectacle is the way the dancers convey their expression and exquisite corporal language through the fusion of dance and music.
“Relations” aims to take all the “personalities” to a promising choreographic journey.
