In 2007, Miguel completed his studies as a professional dancer at the School of Dance at the National Conservatory.
After his training, he received a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation to attend a Bachelor / Postgraduate degree in dance in the D.A.N.C.E. II in Dresden, Germany.
As a dancer, he joined the following companies: The Forsythe Company, Random Dance, Ballet Preljocaj, Ballet National de Marseille (D.A.N.C.E. Apprentice Program); Introdans; Balletboyz; Icon Dance; James Cousins Dance; Delattre Dance Company and Ballet Hagen.
During his time abroad, he danced pieces and worked with the following choreographers: William Forsythe, Wayne McGregor, Angelin Preljocaj, Frederic Flamand, Cayetano Soto, Marco Goecke, Regina Van Berkel, Hans van Mannen, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Jirí Kylian, Robert Battle, Young Soon Hue, Russell Maliphant, Fernando Melo, Jarek Cemerek, Hans Hanning Paar, Ricardo Fernando, James Cousins, Stephen Delattre, Darrel Tulon, Sasha Waltz, Nijinsky, Tânia Carvalho, Rui Lopes Graça, Paulo Ribeiro, Miguel Ramalho, Fernando Duarte, and among others.
As a choreographer, Miguel created, in 2009, his first piece “Hide and Seek” on the D.A.N.C.E. II. Later he created “Silencio de Eva” in 2013 for the Portuguese Association Royal Acadamie of Dance, in 2014 “Good Night & Farewell My Love” for Delattre Dance Company, in Mainz / Germany. This was followed by “Supernova” in 2016, “Saudade” in 2017 for the Tanzlabor project at the Ballet Hagen Company in Germany and “Ageless Breed on Moon’s Aura” for the Artistic Dance School of the National Conservatory in Lisbon.
After completing ten years of career outside Portugal, he is currently onstage at the Teatro Camões where he is a dancer at the Companhia Nacional de Bailado.
