Push Pull

SYNOPSIS

The push of hardship, famine, war and poverty and the beckoning pull of a better life in the wealthy west, is a simplistic perception of the complex phenomenon of migration. This work explores the emotional push and pull of people compelled to migrate and confront new challenges, while deprived of the anchoring of their cultures and origins, and in the process, forge new realities that enrich the lives of both them and their host societies.”

SINOPSE

A perceção do fenómeno da migração como um empurrão dado pela adversidade, pela fome, pela guerra, pela pobreza, rumo à miragem de uma vida melhor na abundância do Ocidente, que puxa e atrai, é uma perceção simplista de um fenómeno complexo. Este trabalho explora as correntes emocionais que puxam e empurram, sentidas por quem é compelido a migrar e enfrentar novos desafios e que, perdidas as amarras de culturas e origens, forjam pelo caminho novas realidades que vêm enriquecer as suas vidas e a vida das suas sociedades de acolhimento.
